Fashion Trends – Do You Know What Is Hot?

Now a days fashion and streetwear are becoming the same thing with mixes of styles that take influences from the past with a traditional style and look that is more reminiscent of the 50′s or even the 20′s along with a range of styles that are influenced by modern streetwear and youth culture from across the world.

It is now more the fashion for someone to have a range of different looks as opposed to one style. This means that a person could wear a designer suit one night, a colourful streetwear T-shirt the next and finish the week with a mix of the two.

Traditional types of clothes like trousers and a T-shirt are still extremely popular but the styles and details on them are what makes them different. Fashion designers like to add different types and styles of logos, so clothes can either have big artistic prints or small detailed logos.

New terms like Streetwear and Urbanwear have been invented to categorise these new clothing trends and styles. Streetwear is used to describe clothing inspired by the street lifestyle and often incorporate urban themes such as graffiti and life on the streets. Urbanwear and streetwear companies are often started by people from the street such as graffiti artists and skaters. Addict and Fly53 are two companies who have had success by developing their brands like this.

Retro looks from the 40′s and 50′s have made a big comeback in recent times. This has resulted in a serge in vintage clothes stores selling preowned clothes from different eras in time.

The popularity of retro vintage clothing has resulted in faux vintage clothing being produced and it has had a big impact on the fashion world as most people want the retro look at modern affordable prices but it can often be hard to find real vintage clothes.

Fashion designers have responded by producing replica clothing from the 1940′s to the 1980′s at cheap prices. This means that consumers can have nice retro apparel that fit comfortably, are affordable and it also means you don’t have to go routing through your parents clothes in the attic.

Underwear has also become more important in the fashion industry and vintage lingerie is now a growing market. The rise and return of burlesque shows has resulted in more burlesque hosiery being produced and women are now buying seamed stockings, corsets and waist cinchers.

3 Fashion Trends of 2011 Spotted on the Red Carpet That You Should Know About

Celebrities and fashion trends go hand-in-hand. Sometime celebrities start a trend and sometime they support a trend. The best place to see them in all their glory is of course during any red carpet event. It may be only the third month of the year, but with a host of award ceremonies that has been held, a clear picture of the fashion trends that is going to rule 2011 is already quite clear. So to help you incorporate those looks in your wardrobe this year, here are the top trends seen on your favorite celebrities gracing the red carpet:

— Belts: Belts are very much in fashion as evident from the styles seen on such events as Golden Globe Awards and the 83rd Annual Academy Award. The trend was first spotted in the Golden Globe Award night with Jennifer Love Hewitt sporting an embellished belt on a strapless gown that had detailing on bodies designed by Ramona Keveza. Sofia Vergara of “Modern Family” wore a strapless gown, dark fuchsia in color with a slim black belt. This outfit was designed by Vera Wang. The style continued in Oscar night with Gwyneth Paltrow wearing a beautiful Luis Vuitton brooch on her belt with her Calvin Klein column dress. This trend however appeared in full force in the Screen Actors Guild Award (SAG Award) night with nearly 6 actresses wearing dresses with belts. One of the best dresses among them was Mila Kunis who was wearing an Alexander McQueen gown, red in color with abstract print and a belt that clinched her waist and adding height to her petite figure.

— Rouched and Feathered Textures: Feathers are very much in fashion for summer/spring 2011 as seen in various collections of leading designers. Celebrities also supported this trend with Hillary Swank wearing a beautiful gown with ostrich feather skirt from Gucci in Academy Award. In the Vanity Fair Oscar Party held after the Award ceremony, actress Naomi Watts came in a Zac Posen gown that had feather details on the train. In SAG Awards, Tina Fey, Amber Reily, Jenna Ushkowitz and Angie Harmon were seen wearing dresses that were either with feathers or with rouched textures. In Golden Globe award, Julie Bowen of “Modern Families” was seen in a dove gray Tadashi Shoji gown that had the same texture.

— Skinny ties: Men have very limited choice when it comes to red carpet event as there are very few things you can change about a classic tux. Still, some of them came sporting some new trends which will surely be copied for the rest of the year. One was skinny tie, a retro look that found many takers as evident from such events as Golden Globe and Academy Award. Justin Beiber, Mark Salling from “Glee” and teenage heartthrob Zac Efron were seen wearing this type of neck tie in the Golden Globe awards while Jesse Eisenberg from “The Social Network” wore a skinny tie with his slim black tux in Academy Award night. Russell Brand went a step forward and wore his skinny tie with a black and navy suit and horizontal striped shirt which stood quite apart from the black and white tux seen on most male celebrities in Oscar night. The trend continued in the SAG Award night with Justin Timberlake and his compatriot from “The Social Network”, Andrew Garfield both wearing skinny ties with their tux. However, Justin’s black and white stripped skinny tie was a bit edgier than others.

The fashion trends endorsed by celebrities in such red carpet events are not that hard to follow. But there is no need to sport all the look you see; just pick those that compliment your body type or age and you will be counted as one of the fashionistas of the world.

Maternity Fashion Trends for 2010/2011

Maternity fashion trends often take their cures from what celebrity mothers to be are wearing, and this season, there are some especially exciting trends being seen on the red carpet. You can always take these styles and add your own flair to them for a personalized touch. This season, maternity fashion trends are full of basic pieces, which will serve as the foundation for your stylish wardrobe. Just because you are a mother to be does not mean that you have to let yourself fall by the wayside in terms of fashion.

Leggings – This particular style is as versatile and stylish as it is comfortable. They are available in a wide variety of different fabrics, from wild animal prints to leather or velvet. Additionally, they can be dressed with a pair of flats or paired with a bump hugging tunic top and heels for a night out. Skinny Jeans – Skinny jeans can be worn in a way that is similar to leggings. The tapered leg cut of the jeans is flattering on many different body types. Ideally, they should contain a bit of stretch to ensure that you remain comfortable during your entire pregnancy. Mini Dresses - Maternity fashion trends are no longer about camouflaging your bump, but celebrating it instead. These bump hugging garments are ideal for doing just that! For an especially sexy look, they can be paired with a pair of opaque tights for a night out with your girlfriends or significant other. Feminine Dresses - To continue the trend of certain clothing that celebrates your pregnancy, you should look for dresses that feature feminine details, like flower prints, ruffles, or flowing designs. Because most women feel the most feminine when they are pregnant, this feeling can be expressed through their clothing. Rocker Chic - This particular trend replaces feminine dresses with boot cut and torn jeans, graphic print tees, boots, and tough cut leather jackets. It is the antithesis of feminine, but they are many women who enjoy this rocker/biker/tough appearance. One particular celebrity who is frequently embodying this trend is Gisele Bundchen.

Meet The Beatles: Fashion Trends

From Please Please Me to Abbey Road, the Beatles certainly left a mark on the generation that they presided over. In fact, it can be argued that the English rock band that formed in Liverpool in 1960 has influenced every aspect of popular culture, from music, to slang, to fashion and beyond. In the 1960′s, as the Beatles were quickly rising to fame, the fashion world was also being rapidly conquered by the up-and-coming, modern, minimalist style (known as Mod). While the band was first and foremostly known for their musical success, they soon took on the role of style icons for entire generations of young men, first in Great Britain, and then throughout the world. I scanned the Internet and compiled a list of some of the most popular spring 2011 and summer fashion trends for girls and women. Most of these came from fashion shows this past fall while some come from bloggers who have their fingers on the pulse of fashion.

One popular spring 2011 trend is floral patterns. Floral patterns on girls dresses, pants, jackets, blouses, and fitted blouses are sure to be popping up everywhere over the spring and summer. A lot of these floral patterned short dresses and long dresses look like something out of a late 1960s movie. Think retro/hippy flower wear and you are talking 2011 trends.

Another trend is denim. Don’t go crazy on the denim but fashionable denim shorts for women will be very popular this spring and summer. In addition to the denim, stripes with little graphics will be a popular girls tee as well this season. The bolder the better with your denim selection as far as colors go.

Sleek and slinky dresses with a 1970s look are also back in style this spring and summer. Satin dance dresses which look like they can be worn for parties, galas, events, or dinner parties are back in style. Ink emerald and sapphire are the preferred dress colors for these simple or special occasion dresses.

Full skirts are back in style for 2011. Once again think retro 1970s era and you will be dressing for 2011. These full skirts were popular in the 70s and have made a return to pop fashion. These short skirts are also popular among men who love checking out women in full skirts. They are sexy and leave a little to the imagination which is perfect if you are trying to turn heads. Choose from long, sheer, short, or fuller full skirts.

Wide pants are also a popular fashion statement this spring and summer. 2011 is looking more like 1971 with these trends, so go through your mother’s attic and you may find a stylish outfit. These pants have a high trouser with a wide leg. These wide pants are surely spring/summer 2011 fashion trend that will turn heads.

These are just a few of the hot trends for spring/summer 2011 girls fashion. Happy summer!

Urban Fashion Trends for 2011

In the present day world, it’s surprising to see men taking more time to look their best when going out. Looking ones best comes to the front when they try on new clothing brands, and fashion tips. There are numerous blogs and forums online which give men and women unique fashion tips for the current year, 2011. Though it may be seen that men’s fashion trends don’t change very often, the same can’t be said about women’s fashion trends as every season brings a new collection of fashion goods.

In the year 2011, there have been a number of improvements in the fashion sector. In recent years, designers have begun to take a more practical approach when it comes to designing collections and fashion attires. In the year 2011, the main aspect which is influencing the fashion brigade is military styles. Though fashion designers don’t design for the overkill subtle references to the armed forces by using a mix match of colors like greens, whites and blues can make simple looking attires really stylish. There are military coats and aviator boots which are available and are quite popular with the masses. If you are short in stature, you can go in for short styled army knitwear attire which has military embossing on the shoulders.

Apart from the military look, there have also been references to the skinny side of clothing. Skinny suits, jeans and dresses have all been seen on fashion ramps this season. A skinny suit or jeans can help retain the shape of the body and thereby put forth a lovely and beautiful picture to those looking at you. Jeans on the other hand are popular with girls as it helps bring about the shapeliness of their figures.

Woolens have been revamped with clunky sweaters and baggy knitwear coming into fashion. There is a lot of scope for one to choose sweaters and oversized woolens to keep themselves warm this season. This look is superb and beautiful and can be associated with men as well as women of all ages.

Hats are another aspect which has dominated the fashion season this year. You will have found a number of people wearing hats and head wear during fashion shows. The hat variations are numerous and range from top hats to beanies, trapper hats and much loved military styled headwear. These caps are available in materials like leather, fur and fabric. English driver hats are also very common picks as an urban fashion trend in 2011.

With women, the style of dresses available in the year 2011 has been limited to animal prints, shoulder detailed dresses, as also floral decorations and culturally inspired dresses. Animal prints create a sexy and haute look, while floral prints can be mixed and matched to be a pride in your wardrobe every single time of the year.

In order to brief yourself on the other fashion trends seen this year, you can start by logging onto internet sites and forums as also, reading magazines and updating your knowledge watching television fashion shows and similar telecasts. The year 2011 has only just begun, so, you can expect many more style laden urban fashion trends as the season changes.

As women, we all would like to keep up with the latest trends in the world of fashion but, let’s face it, as mothers and wives, life is just too busy to keep up with the ever-changing face of fashion. While I don’t profess to be able to keep up with it all, I will try to impart a little wisdom in the fabulous world of handbags.

Perusing the pages of Elle magazine, reading numerous review of Paris and Milan Fashion week 2011 have yielded the same conclusions. The first major handbag trend for 2011 is color, color, and more color. The bolder and brighter the color, the better. This color trend even extends so far as to combine more than one of these “in your face” colors on one handbag. Rarely have bright colors and animal prints been seen together and may not sound attractive, but, let me tell you, I have seen it and IT IS HOT! However, if you are not a lover of bright, bold colors, do not despair, for there are other trends that may suit you.

Fashion Trends – Women in Leather

Leather, at one time was associated with the ‘bad boy’ or even the ‘in crowd’, but in the 21st century, leather has taken on an entirely new meaning. These days, women can wear leather without being called rebels or troublemakers. In fact, feminine leather jackets have been a staple in women’s fashion for many years now! That being the case, we shall discuss a few of the different leather coats that women can wear that go far beyond the standard motorcycle jacket.

Marilyn Jacket:

When people think of women in leather, they typically think of this jacket. Not only is it stylish, it provides an authoritarian look and feel. These jackets are normally composed of cowhide leather with a YKK zipper closure. In addition to that there are zip-out sleeves that provide extra ventilation if needed.
